GIant Robots

We here at This Way South love giant robots (see here) and we love them so much we’ve been wondering if it is at all possible and how soon can we get our hands on one. To our trained eye (read that as watching copious amounts of Anime) we’ve always thought it to be a simple thing to do and we’ve been baffled by our scientists and Apple’s inability (lets blame everything on Apple because we think they suck) to finally provide us with heavy ion propelled mecha. Truthfully, I put in my order for my personal Death Scythe at least 10 years ago and I’m disgusted that I am yet to receive even a functioning toy replica. To counter this great failing I decided that I will build my own and hence the exploration of the mechanics involved. In the process I came across some very geeky explanations of why physics won’t make them possible. Clearly it wasn’t geeky enough because any self-respecting geek wouldn’t give me the current limitations of technology on how to build something that clearly wouldn’t use or act like anything current. If it’s futuristic enough then we should be delving into the realm of quantum physics, bio-chemical engineering and what not. After all the Nirvash and the Eva units were clearly not just mechanical and delved too into bio-mechanics and at times the downright esoteric. Removing budgetary concerns, we would have to since even making something as rudimentary as the Death Star would cost us according to the White House $850qn (that’s $850,000,000,000,000,000). They came up Continue reading Future Focus: Mecha
